This is a 5x5 film: that is, 5 subjects each for 5 seconds. It uses an assortment of shots that I took in the central west of New South Wales while working on several other film projects. It attempts to portray - with a montage lasting just a few seconds - the vastness of rural Australia.

It was recorded in 16:9 aspect ratio Standard Definition PAL using a Sony DVD201E camera. Post production was done using Adobe Premiere Elements 3. The music is an excerpt from the soundtrack for Godfrey Reggio's film Powaqqatsi and it was composed by Philip Glass.

    G'day Blake.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and for adding it to the 5x5 Channel without me even having to ask! Now that's service :-)

    Kindest regards,
    Arnold

    I like your short impressions.
Think it's wonderfull indeed to be outdoors in good weather with a camera. Did you ever try it in rain and storm?
I see that you are using Premiere Elements 3.
How do you export and upload your high quality films?

    Hi.

Thank you for liking my stuff :-)

Although we have pretty good weather here in Australia most of the time I have tried filming when it's horrible outside. When Marilyn and I went to Japan, out of the 25 days we were there it rained on 21 of them.

There were also 2 typhoons and a major earthquake while we were there. If you have a few minutes, and want to see Japan (often in the rain) have a look at vimeo.com/629739

    Kindest regards,
    Arnold
