30 second documentary.

Oops.

I'm really sad about this...
here are some things I remember about our conversation:

In order to get the most out of life we must:
learn learn learn - never stop learning!
observe the world around us & be active participants
never judge! always love and respect others

She also said travel is one of the most educational experiences we can have.

She was a lovely woman and I'm really really really really sad I didn't get the conversation recorded. I don't do her justice with these mere text remnants of her sage advice.

Hey it still turned out great! I mean it's not documenting her life and advice, but you turned it into a documentation of your experience.

Sometimes we get great things out of what seems to be failure. In this instance it took you down an unintended avenue, so you documented what you aimed for and how you ended with what you got.

Plus there's something visually nice about a time-lapse of a conversation from one person's point of view.

Thank you! Yeah, the time-lapse of the conversation is pretty interesting... I guess I overlooked it in my frustration.

That was cool. Somethings are meant for the moment and you got to experience that with her. You have a great artifact of that place in time to help you to remember. Let it go. It was meant to be.
  • victoria 2 months ago
Yeah, you're right. I'm letting go... ahhhh... some things are better in the mind, anyway.

heheh... I usually do try to cover up my mistakes but this time I thought I'd do something different. It was such a silly mistake I wanted to share with the whole world how absent-minded I can be ^__^

I've done that sooo many times I can't even tell you.

But to be honest, I kinda like this better.
  • victoria 2 months ago
phew. Well, I don't feel as bad about it then.

I'm glad you like it. I think I might take some of the comments' advice and try different audio, just for fun.

That's really unlucky. But at least this video will remind you of the things she said, even if you can't hear them again.
  • victoria 2 months ago
    this is true. :)

You ended up with a very original doc... and "Ramos", that's a portuguese name, does she come from my little corner?
  • victoria 2 months ago
    Thank you!

Her husband was from Portugal, yes! She told me all about the difference between Mexican and Portuguese spellings :) For instance Vasquez vs. Vasques
  • victoria 2 months ago
p.s. Did I pronounce "Ramos" correctly? probably not! :\

I quite regularly press record on my camera when its already actually recording. Then I shoot my film not realising Ive just turned it off. Then when I finish, I switch it on again thinking Ive just switched it off. Then I go to my computer to edit and realise that I missed all the action and just recorded the bits inbetween. Whole days can be spent doing this.
