I chose a classic Sci fi text, ‘The Stars my Destination’ by Alfred Bester, originally known as ‘Tiger Tiger’ and created a complex digital matte based on an excerpt and, at large a section from the book.
The matte involved the generation of a collection of prop spaceships and junk in Lightwave, they were then textured and placed upon a terrain I created partially with Terragen. Next it was simply a case of many fine adjustments to composition, placement and lighting until I could pull out a refined enough render to complete post production compositing in Photoshop.
