    Hello!
I must say I really fell for the music in the "original" video, but the pictures and the video are just amazingly beautiful and peaceful in both, so ... Great job! And thank you for sharing.
I hope I'll be able one day to spend a week in the mountains shooting stars (er ... I'm French ... can I say that? "shooting stars"?)

    Hi Mariev,

Thank you! I had the idea of shooting this movie the moment I heard the piece of music in the original video, and I actually had that piece of music in my mind the entire time when I did the shots, so may be that's why it worked better since I "designed" the movie around it. Hahaha, I think "shooting stars" is fine, but people may think you are talking about meteors though!

    you said :

Ah well ... we can do with some poetry, especially with your poetic pictures ;)

I knew about the way you "designed" the first video according to the music (I read most of the comments on the first one), and I totally understand what you mean. I guess I would have done the same thing, provided I could "shoot" stars and make a video out of them ;)
By the way, I posted your video on my blog, and everyone just loved it (sur-les-chemins.toile-libre.org). I hope I was allowed to do so (well, there's an "embed" code, so I guess it's alright), please tell me if there's any problem with that. Most visitors complained about the fact that it has become very difficult to watch pure skies at night (and about the shortness of the video) and said the music was magnificent and so relaxing.

Sorry, I can be a real chatterbox!

I wanted it to be a little bit longer as well, but then I was limited by the music (I really wish James Newton Howard had written that beautiful piece a little bit longer!). This is actually the reason why I am posting this extended version.

I am planning to do another video soon and it will be around 2:30-3:00 this time!

Amazing video, makes me cool down... how did you shout it? regular rec all the time and then acelerated or have you put some interval between the frames? tanks for sharing that was very nice!

    Thank you!

The video is actually a series of long exposure photos 15 seconds apart, all I did was using software merge them together into a movie. It's just like the little match stick man cartoon kids draw on notebooks.

What if you mount the camera on a telescope mount that tracks the sky?
I saw a video where they try to achieve that effect using post-processing of a video like yours, and it's pretty mind-blowing as you see the earth rotating, not the stars.
Look it up on youtube as "earth rotating instead of stars" or something like that.

Both images and music make this video ideal to unwind after a busy day...

  • Amazing! Especially love the clip when you see the traffic beneath the moving stars. Really puts things in perspective.
