This workshop provides an introduction to basic concepts of Evidence Based Assessment (EBA) and demonstrates application of these techniques in the creation of a model for the prediction of Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder from a combination of objective and subjective measures. It provides an overview of basic concepts of EBA including review of Bayes’ Theorem, sensitivity, specificity, likelihood ratios, odds ratios, pretest probability, post-test probability, and chained likelihood ratios. Use of these principles is demonstrated in the formation of models to predict the presence of attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder. Case examples illustrate EBA concepts and recommendations are made for future development of EBA models.
