Winter storms often bring strong winds to Ho'okipa beach on Maui's North Shore providing excellent windsurfing conditions and entertainment.
The humpback whales head back north soon but they are still near the islands -- at about the 4 minute mark into the video you can see a whale spout behind the windsurfer, then the whale's enornous back.
And enjoy the slow-motion windsurfing carve at the very end of the video.
