the video was done with a stopmotion paper-puppet that was composed in aftereffects to hand-drawn background elements ...
The software involved is mostly aftereffects and a weird(but in a cool and clumsy kind of way) stopmotion software for PC that works only with sony(or was it canon ?) cams but gives you a real live preview (!). And of course photoshop for retouching ...
