An Italian, Arched Wooden Panel with Painting of Moses and the Steer – Antique Condition Commensurate with Age – Chipping to paint and wood, Age Shrinkage to Wood – Old Restorations -Circa 1580

Found in France, this resplendent painted and arched panel depicts Moses in bare feet and a steer to the bottom left. It was found in Florence, Italy, which has a very long and fascinating history going back before Christ.

Horizontal support boards on the back of the panel have been added at some point in its history to keep the panels of wood from separating. These boards also enable this magnificent painted panel to be hung on a wall, placed upon a mantle, or simply placed on the floor for viewing. Of course, the dimensions are ideal for a door as well!
