Part 2 of The Storm Chasers. This is the best half with all the action saved for the end. Giant Hail, big tornadoes, all the thrill of the chase.

This is a documentary I have been working on for over a year. Filmed mainly with an XDCAM F350. I drove over 9000 miles, flew a further 20,000 miles and shot 20 hours of material to get to this stage. I hope to either sell this as a finished documentary, offers please ;-) or to continue to add to it with new stories that will be shot over the next year to bring it up to a full hour. I will leave it up on Vimeo for a limited period only.

I can see schools wanting to buy this for educational purposes. You could even try your luck at Discovery Networks...

    Very nice work.

The problem is it is only 26mins. It needs to be at least 48 mins for a broadcaster. Working on some new material this year. Will be getting some amazing footage as part of the Elemental Project and by the end of the year will have enough material to produce 2x 1 hour shows. We are planning on shooting some of the new stuff in 3D HD with a pair of EX3's.

You have a lot on your hands, with the new material totaling 2x 1 hour shows, you could probably do a special right after a "docudrama" about tornadoes or make it separate on a Discovery Network or National Geographic Channel. (and according to your YouTube, you've already worked with them so contact should be easy)

This will definitely work as a educational video since it's too short for broadcast.

Just imagine, one day schools will have Blu-ray players with HD educational videos being the new norm...

Do you need a hand for "The Making Of..." DVD ?

Some absolutely amazing footage, not to mention ball size!
Guess you don't need a timelapse cameraman as you can shoot long duration video, but I can offer motion control with it should you ever want. Good luck with the rest of the project.

Spectacular! Really great stuff. Thanks for posting it.

I like the sound of the British narrator, the American guy sounds a bit contrived. I'll bet the BBC would buy this, especially since you filmed with a professional camera.

If you can swing it, the sound of tornado sirens going off and post-tornado footage of the destruction might add to the drama. There's a human element that would be very interesting if you covered it.

Sell it to Australian broadcasters like ABC. 26 minutes is perfect.

But yes, a very nice video indeed. I'm glad you've decided to share all of your hard work on Vimeo, and the best of luck with the distribution side of things.

Thanks for the kind remarks. If you look at some of my other videos you will see what I have been up to. The Elemental project (www.elementalproject.com) is about to move in to it's second year and we have some amazing adventures lined up. We are now also taking guests on some of our trips for stills and video training.
