Debby Gross gave us an overview of the workshops at the OU Israel Trauma Centers around Israel. We visited her at the Kiryat Malachi Trauma Center in the Chabad neighborhood. It was a summer day camp of arts and crafts that interfaces with arts & crafts utilized for trauma therapy. Our group of visitors came from the Orthodox Union (OU) Solidarity Mission July 2014. The need for trauma therapy is because the citizens in Israel are under Arab missile fire, which causes two types of damage to people. 1. The damage can be physical as in destroying the body of the person or properties. 2. The damage can be mental, causing anxiety and permanent mental disability.
Intervention of the mental shock/trauma can lead to full recovery. So the hands on grassroots OU Israel Trauma Centers in many cities of Israel reach out before the citizen even realizes he needs help. Also in many OU Israel Trauma Centers there are low income people, who would not go for counseling, because they have a. no money for such services b. no education that this type of service is worthwhile.
another beyondarecipe.com production and we thank God for all the blessings and plea with Him to give Israel peace and the Jewish nation the redemption and resurrection.
