Like standing side to side the sitting practice helps one develop a deeper understanding of the inguinal crease area or kua. This is one of the Wujifa sitting practices. Some people find the sitting practice easier to notice little details because they can get a little distracted by the heavy feeling in the legs when doing really good standing side to side practices. Although doing both the sitting and standing practices are good because both have their own limitations and hence engage ones understanding in different ways. This video was taken last year with practitioners of various levels of skill.
