Using animation, sounds warping and time shifts this video runs forwards and backwards looking for forgotten details, mimicking the way memories are replayed in the mind.

Yes, it's a bit slow at the beginning ... and at the end.
This version have been done for playing 10 times in loop.

    This is,... just so amazing!
When it zoomed in and jumped to all the various moving scenes, it reminded me of the Myst series, particulary Myst III. Realistic/Photographic enviroments with really odd things happening, mechanics, people, animals, all that while you're just looking around you, or are on a moving cart that shows you around an island or something!

    Amazing!

Rarely saw such a thing..I'm mooved happy and puzzled. No clue how you do that all.
Did I understand well that you have a vernisage somewhere? Love to see it spacious.
  • Patrick Bergeron plus 3 years ago
I showed it only once. The most difficult part of this project is to find places to show it. I'm very happy about all the comments on Vimeo. It's good to know that people like it.
    thanks!

Superbe. Magnifique idée, graphique, documentaire, le son est également très bien travaillé.
Bravo, bravo. si ça passe sur Paris, je veux bien en être !!!
    Félicitations.
  • Patrick Bergeron plus 3 years ago
Je suis content du qualificatif "documentaire". Ces images ont, avant tout, été captées dans ce but. Ensuite j'en ai fait quelquechose plus graphique. Paris ... j'aimerais bien y présenter mon projet. merci!

Great! As a fellow Vimeo loop-maker, isn't it a shame that there is no 'loop' button on Vimeo?!
  • Patrick Bergeron plus 3 years ago
Loop! Loop! Loop! I want Loop!
Maybe there is something we don't know about the implementation of the loop function.
    thanks for your comment!
  • Mario Cavalli plus 3 years ago
Apparently there is: Right Click (or Control Click on a Mac) in the player, to play as a loop. Big thanks to Vimeo's Blake for that info.

Very original and refreshing, however I don't like typography of the title.
  • Patrick Bergeron plus 3 years ago
The typo ... you are not the only one that don't like it :|
I'm not a designer so I bought these wood letters in a library next to my house and took pictures of them.
But LoopLoop is firstly an installation, when I show it as an installation there is no title at all.
    Thanks for the comments!

    Hi Patrick
Thanks for your comment on my film. Plastic Decay, Ive only just joined Vimeo, so it's great to see how this Vimeo network works. You have an impressive list of festivals there. It takes a lot of work to submit to all those.

With the film LoopLoop you manage to create chaos and then break it down to simple beautiful moving images, like the person on the bicycle and the dog.

    Cheers
    Dan.
  • Patrick Bergeron plus 2 years ago
    Hi Dan,
few months ago I started to send my video to festivals. It's a lot of time and a lot of money too. I decided to go all the way to this festival madness. At the end of it I will decide if the joy worth the pain.

    thanks for your comment,
    Patrick

Don't know that I could say any thing that any one else hasn't said. The film was very fresh and was superb from beginning to end. Only part I felt shouldn't have been included was when you revealed the individual sections of the panorama (the squares). Revealing the process in that context took me out of the film a bit, and I didn't really get any thing out of being shown that.

loved it, though, it was great.
  • Patrick Bergeron plus 2 years ago
    Hi Nilz,
    thanks for the comments.
About the square, yes it could be discussed about if it had to be there or not. LoopLoop was initialy planned to be 2 versions; left and right brain versions! One version will have straigth linear move and the other one will have multiple animation movements. The "squares" is the only thing left from many animation tests. When I'm watching this part now, it reminds me an old steam train mechanism. My looploop factory in the middle is spinning, spinning, making the train starting up!
