5. Khula Happy Zulu Singers St. Lucia South-Africa

My big camera was in the hotel. But this proofs you don't need to miss great moments in life with pocketcams! Always at hand! This is one of my first clips with the new mini Sanyo Xacti HD1000 a $400 cam, without any extra's. A miniscule stereo microphone at back of LCD, but amazing quality! But now the FH1 is my favorite even better and smaller and a build in wide angle and Advanced Zoom!
My friends (very polite but very poor) from a township called Khula (sheds without water and electricity) just outside villacity St.Lucia KwaZuluNatal South Africa.
This group performs for tourist on restaurant terraces in St.Lucia and here at the arrivaldeck from a hippo boattour on St.Lucia River at sunset. They sing and swing really great just like the other famous Zulugroup Ladysmith Black Mombazo. This music style is called Isicathamiya. Made famous by Paul Simon. They rehearse a lot and we hope to make them famous also. Help them please if you can. Please also search for "Khula Happy Singers" on YouTube for our one year old clip as promo for a great and very affordable B&B in St.Lucia. Absolutely one of the best spots to spent a few weeks in Zululand, close to the best diving spots SodwanaBay, Elephant coast, birds (Trompetbills), monkeys, many wild Hippo's, Crocks and HluHluwe Imfolozi Safari Wildpark.

In the meantime Jan and me also are using the Sony Vegas Pro 8 for editing the xacti files, works smooth and perfect, even with low-speed computers.

I've also made my "Nova Mar Bella Surfing" movie with that cam... but the colors were not so good at that day... ;-))
I'm so pleased Victoria aked if she can buy a CD. This will make them and me (for them) utmost happy. These guys have no other income. Hope many of you will visit them. Its worthwhile. They have a very nice (sponsorred) infocentre at Khula Township entrance and do township tours. We also visited a Sangome and they peform us a Zulu wedding dance. i see background not fine. especially 1.50 and follow , sky and water are really bad in pixels
just would like to know if this is due to compression or present as well in raw from cam?
i 'm in the mood of getting one as for absolute portability, but , browsing shots around , i've seen little problems such as pixels and focus hunting

BTW, I also came to meet so poor but so nice people. Not having almost anything, they wouldn't mind giving their houses for you to sleep and staying with them. I felt so honoured that they invited us to a wedding. I have a short video (if anyone wants to see), but the overall quality (even the editing) is REALLY poor.
Btw I'm sure you meant to refer the Khula Happy Singers to Ladysmith Black Mambaso instead of Mombasa. But I'm often confused with Mombasa as well after visiting it in Kenya's Coast.

I have a HD2 which is pretty easy to process but not nearly as good as this especially at handling motion.
Super performance! It certainly was "fantastic". Please tell the band that they have a fan in Japan.
