Greylag geese, shell, tufted and mallard ducks on Tittenley Pool, near Market Drayton UK, 18th May '08.

It looks like one Greylag moved into another one's territory and was being given an unfriendly escort out of it. That Sheldrake is also not tolerant of any waterfowl near his part of the pond. I know that other relatives of his, like Egyptian Geese and the So. American sheldgeese, can be very aggressive towards other birds. This pond seems like a very special spot to find interesting waterbirds.

Yes, the greylag was making a hell of a lot of noise courting his female in a corner of the Pool for an hour or so, and he wouldn't let any other greylag near her.

And the sheldrake, well he was just crazy!
