I remember the name Adetoro Makinde from either the Best Shorts or the ABFF. Also noticed that Cherot edited the film. Everything was shot very well and it has a warm family feeling. I like the addition of the destruction. In my opinion that is the tie to a homeownership theme here. However, the "legacy" theme is might be a little more prevalent in It Takes a Village than one of the others. Outside of the contest theme, this film would stand very tall with each of the others. Keep pushing.

This is a simple but poignant story of one hand helping another. It's "Each One, Teach One" from generation to generation, a vital necessity in our communities and our world. The cinematography was well done, the editing was good as was the storytelling. Congratulations to Adetoro Makinde on a superb job! I hope to see more of her work.
