About the band:
Formed By Isaac Betesh in Doylestown, Pennsylvania in 2005, House of Fire is the next great psychedelic band. Their songs lace dense, jangly rhythms and intricate melodies into impassioned soulful sketches that evoke spirits of the past and signs of the future. The band's putting the finishing touches on an LP with famed indie producer and Shimmy Disc founder Kramer (Galaxie 500, Bowery Electric, Low, Urge Overkill, Danielson Family). The 9 song self titled LP is due out may 13th 2008 on Universal Warning Records. House of Fire cites their main influences as the psychedelic sound of the 60's and the paisley underground and canyon rock movements of the west coast.

Previous Week
with a cheap wide angle and a stack of ND's in the matte box. I shot
1080i 30fps in TV mode using the exposure lock trick of course.
Inside, on many of the takes...had the band perform playback 25%
faster and shot at first 60 then 120 fps, and then slowed the velocity
using Vegas 7. I had alot of trouble because the band was thrown off by
this but it works, where it works!
Other than that, I cc'd the hell out of everything and added color
curves...contrast, etc...many of the performance shots feature 3-4
layers of composites....some of just solid color slugs, some
backgrounds shot from a car window using split color grads from green
skies and stuff...much of the road footage has a mirror effect on it
so as to not make it too obvious as to what you are seeing. I used
that in an attempt to hide some uglies and to add to the kinetic
energy I guess (mostly to cover uglies).....The performance footage
channel has a slight tv simulator effect and a small cookie cutter
around the edges to emulate film burns....
how awesome are you!!!
blake rules
Alex is the shit!
Kudos, bro.
