Animation done using a Stag beetle (lucanus cervus) dataset provided by the vienna university of technology. This is really just a very crude test animation done to proof the point that animation of this kind is possible with the VoluMedic package. So please dont judge my animation skills from this video.
I segmented out part of two legs and the antlers and put them into a hierarchy with the rest of the beetle. I then animated the leg parts and antlers to do some very crude animation. This was done in less than a day. I might revisit the project later and do a more complex animation with it, using inverse kinematics.
The treebranch is a LightWave polygon object. I used spinning lights to light the scene. The beginning of the animation shows the Depth of Field effect and LightWaves photoreal motionblur.
