Cheer Ups for you!
Might I offer you a suggestion?
I believe it could be fantastic if you could write down a simple layer of text over the images (a simple tagbox or textbox, such as the ones we see in common news websites...). That alone could take Asaph to a whole new level... I tell you what, with that, I'd shift to asaph in no time as a lightweight news solution (micronews... new concept?)
Anyway, just a thought. Cheers. San.
I though “Wow!” — then “Easy to be so nice without comment” but… Plume it right: a mouse-over comment could be a great compromise.
You are probably already working on including video (my personal Asaph feed would include several Ted vids ;^)) but maybe it works fine already, treating the still as an image, and linking to the video page.
Last backseat driving piece of advice: try to promote it/make it work through the new Google Reader viewer ‘Play’: short quotes, images… your service match their glossy approach.
Thank You, Dominic.
