Thanks! We used the illustrious 7D!
  • Holy Balls, you have to be kidding me! You shot this with a digital SLR camera in HD video mode?! A true testament of your composition skills. Did you do a lot to it in post? The range of contrast is awesome. Seriously. Way to be man.
  • Bryan Schlam plus 1 year ago
To be honest with you, we primarily only adjusted the color for the majority of the shots when we onlined. The 7D actually has pretty decent contrast, even in the RAW files!

    Otherwise no post, just color!

Thanks so much for watching! :)
  • This just looks incredible. Very well done! May I ask what lens or lenses you used?

Wow, Bryan this is brilliant! Great use of location and light! And your editing is very smooth, even though the cuts are quick..It fits the song very fluidly! Wowsers!

One of the nicest videos I've seen yet on Vimeo. Good shit! Do you have any formalized training in video composition, er, filmmaking?
  • Bryan Schlam plus 1 year ago
All of the above. Thanks for watching!

This is plain impressive. I'm seriously considering the 7D now over a bigger / same price Sony Camcorder!

Would also love to know which kind of lenses did you use :)

    Best of regards from Spain!

PS The song is also beautiful <3

Really gorgeous. Nice change of pace from the heavy DOF pieces shot on DSLRs.
  • mike ambs plus 1 year ago
I agree :) both about this being really gorgeous, and also it being shot with the end-product in mind (and not just showing off the DOF capabilities). Excellent work!

Very well graded and nicely done. People tend to focus too much on what lenses you used vs if the video works or not. That is the ultimate test of any video. I think the leads are boring and the video is good, but that's just personal taste. A high diet of this (another couples video) I've seen before.

And on that note, the editing. Second the gentleman on the top, the cuts are quick but it fits the song. And doesn't put us to sleep.

    Nice stuff.

What do you mean by "raw file"? I thought the video component of the 7d shot in a H.264 codec.

    Good style to music too.
  • Bryan Schlam plus 1 year ago
I meant "raw" as untouched. It does shoot in H.264, but I was referring to the color of the untouched video file.
