engl. "Another Dream"
Stop Motion Animation (2006)

The film tells the story of two lovers dreaming of each other, but always fail to meet in their dreams. They try hard to overcome a number of obstactles. However, they won‘t come together – until they wake up...

I worked on "Ein anderer Traum" for nine months in 2006 and made everything myself, and after I had finished it, I decided I really want to be an animation artist. I'm proud to say that the film made it into a few independent European film festival since this is my debut.

    m_) Although the set and the technique is already beautifully made, I think I most enjoy the plot. Maybe sad but very deep and thoughtful. First time watching this one.

    Dan, thank you! The plot was inspired by a German chanson-like song who tells a similar story...But the longer I worked on that film, the more the details vanished and the essence of the idea behind the song came wanted to be told... I think it's not too sad, because they'll eventually find each other...

    "They will eventually find each other..." Let's hope so, although I still believe as sad as it is, it is indeed a beautiful story. Makes sense..makes maybe too much sense, therefore is sad.

    Currently, I'm working on another sad story, the ancient greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice... I do a lot of small animation fragments all the time, but whenever I'm working on a film as a personal project, it grows slowly...

    m_) same here. but probably not in the same level as yours. not at all, I can't be compared to you.

    but yes, I am also trying little things that end up growing.

    And sad too, but now I am trying to leave the theme of sadness, just for now (just for this month at least)

    well, good luck. Really looking forward to see it. I guess I shouldn't ask much questions and just simply be surprised of what you can come up with. You are very talented. I know you will surprise me again.

    m_) by the way that sounds like a good story for Ray Harryhausen tribute, think about that! keep this in mind.

    Dan, thank you for your kind words! I found them very touching... A tribute to Uncle Ray, hm? I'd love that... But I guess it's going to be more an hommage to Lotte Reiniger, Christian Boltanski, and all the great other artists inspiring and teaching me...
