The recent Hockney on Turner Watercolours, sponsored by B.P. at the Clore Gallery, Tate Britain earlier this year provoked strong interest – an excellent time to recall the watercolor landscapes of Petar Tale, the Montenegrin born Norwegian artist. The shared subject matter here makes for revealing contrast.

J.M.W. Turner’s work anticipates later 20C developments in art. The work of Petar Tale, often measuring 1 x 1.5 metres, demonstrates that the golden age of watercolor is alive and more to the point kicking. Visit talemuseum.com

i adore this style that focuses on light and atmosphere. now that I've been introduced to tale I'd be keen to visit the museum if I ever get the chance to travel in Norway.
