For Jacob.

This sucks I know but it takes forever to etch on 16mm film and I'm lazy. My first Brakhaging test.

Blown out goodness in the beginning is 35mm and the rest is 16mm.

Rad. I've been meaning to do some etching on 8mm with Kamala. I got a roll for her birthday a while back in hopes of doing some animation with her. We got all inspired after watching some Stefan Gruber and Len Lye films. But we never got around to it. I imagine etching on tiny 8mm might be really annoying.
  • oh yeah totally! It was hard enough to make anything coherent on here, and I didn't succeed. I will try on my next pass. I Need better tools. I was using an Xacto and it sucks. I made a sunset with birds and some spiders and penises...but you can barely make them out.

or you could do it the easy way - bleach the film, to make it clear then draw on it. seems easier. i see in the photos you have clear leader. I have just got some overexposed stuff that i got for cheap/free somewhere.

Ooo, fun. I like the music a lot. :)
I read up there that you used an xacto to scratch. On my 54 Cymru Beats video, I used a straight pin, which might be a little easier. I dunno.
  • hahah that probably wouldve been easier, and that turned out better than this crappy test. hahaha. you're a robot with magic art powers.
