Thanks to everyone for the comments and for the interest in how we captured the story. 'UP THERE' was shot on a Sony EX1 with Letus Ultimate DOF adaptor and Nikon glass- 17-35mm, 60mm macro, 70-200mm, and 300mm. Kudos to my buddy Malcolm Murray for his amazing eye. Check out more of his work at hereisthis.com/

Hi, I would really like to use your film in an exhibition I am planning for this summer in England. My work as an artist is inspired by sign painters and sign makers as I worked as a painter myself for about 20 years. Ive completed wall paintings myself using similar techniques and the film captures the agony and ecstasy of the job perfectly. I will try to contact through other ways but meantime if you read this please contact me at AndyDWillett@aol.com. i would love to make as similar film about British sign painters and may look at ways we could fund this. please get in touch. regards Andy

THANK YOU! So good to watch a great piece of documentary work shot with this new technology. Well paced, beautifully shot and capturing a hidden world wonderfully. Really like the contrast between the old master the current painters and the hopeful apprentice. Really very inspirational.

  • I gotta agree with the previous comments. A beautiful piece. I didn't even know they did this thing anymore. Very nice to see that some things last in this modern world.

    This is lovely!

In our downtown area several years ago they knocked down a bunch of buildings to make way for condos. There was one small corner building dating back to the 40's; upon knocking down the larger buildings a BEAUTIFUL Coca Cola mural was revealed. Unfortunately, they later knocked that down as well. Progress? I'm doubtful.
