Harnessing a spectrum of rich color, a strong sense of depth, and repetition of forms, Maija Fiebig creates paintings that transport and move the viewer with their beauty and the other-worldly environments she creates.

Fiebig is currently working with paint and canvas after a period of years working with fabric, glue, sugar, resins, office labels, even cake crystals in addition to paint and canvas. Those paintings were noteworthy for their complexity, richness and depth, and Fiebig is now creating works with some of those same strengths, but greater simplicity.

Fiebig is a Seattle native who spent her student years in Bellingham and now resides on Queen Anne, where she spent her childhood. She is represented by G. Gibson Gallery. maijafiebig.com
