Couldn't resist and grabbed an Aiptek A-HD+. I already have the original A-HD among other hybrids but wanted to try out the 720P 60FPS mode.
From what I can tell, shooting in 60 FPS significantly reduces the rolling shutter issue.
I attached a "Digital Concepts" 0.45 magnetic wide angle lens. It's basically just like the Phoenix 'large' 0.45 lens but rebranded.

how did you mount it on

It comes with metal rings to attach on to your camera. The magnet on the lens snaps on to the ring.

Thanks for posting the Aiptek A-HD+ videos. I've got amazon.com open in another tab and I wasn't sure if I wanted to replace my flipvideo with antoher one or try an inexpensive HD. Inepxensive HD it is.

Thanks also for posting the technical details about how you got your videos to look so clear!

Thanks. The important thing with these cameras is using a tripod. Since the camera is so light and there's no stabilization, your footage will be really shaky. There's also the 'wobbly' effect or rolling shutter issues when going handheld which you probably experienced with the Flip.
Shooting in 60fps significantly reduces rolling shutter effect though.

I've been reading other reviews and I've seen that "rolling shutter" issue mentioned, but I can't get a good grasp as to what it looks like.

I'm guessing it's not evident in your video above because it looks like you used a tripod?

    Here's an example.

I had a Flip Ultra and Aiptek A-HD in each hand and panned left to right, up & down in a fast motion. You can see the vertical lines from the building have a wavy motion to it.

Oh and yes I attached the AHD to a small GorillaPod and set it on the ground.

Thanks for this clip, I was looking into a better option than "wavy" video and this camera may just be enough.

Is this straight from the cam ? I'm thinking of getting one.

Yep. It's straight from the cam. This clip is 720P 60fps (59.94 actually) ~6Mbps h.264.
This week you should be able to pick one up from Target for $120.

I got the target deal and bought one today. Do you edit any of the clips at all? The clips crash my vegas 7. I was thinking QT pro might be able to rename them as mp4 instead of mov.

    Thanks

Ya.. Vegas crashes when trying to drag Aiptek's h.264 files directly. You need to remux the files to .mp4 with Yamb (yamb.unite-video.com/download.html). It doesn't re-encode the file or reduce the quality at all. It basically switches the container from .mov to .mp4.

You can then render to 60FPS w/ h.264, WMVHD, or quicktime within Vegas if you want to keep the framerate.
