Why Be You? is an exploration of pressure on women to achieve ideal “beauty” in contemporary society. It uses the image of Heidi Montag (arguably the poster girl of plastic surgery) to identify the effects of focusing on achieving this standard of beauty with the aid of plastic surgery and other health threatening practices. We aim to analyze and criticize the messages sent to young girls make them want to achieve this physique.
