Only a musician as complete as SERGIO ANDRADE could make a blend in which the southeastern rhythms of Mexico, some pieces of cooking pots, a marimba, big blocks of male and female background vocals, and clusters in the piano, leave happy together. One of the particular characteristics of the unique sound of SERGIO ANDRADE y su Grupo, shows itself in this song through the use of invented percussions of their own ("improvised" shakers made with old two litters Coca-Cola bottles refilled with different kind of seeds and little stones), and the interesting Sofía's original drums playing (a different set of drums, ancient percussion instruments around her calves and ankles, and her barefoot aproach to the drums pedals, which allows her to make rhythm with her feet directly on the floor in some parts of the songs).
RUMBA YA is a powerful song which generates folk danceable energy and shows how it is possible to make completely new music out from the most dissimilar instruments.
