I am Anne Kavanagh and I am the reporter in these reports.
I did them for FOX News Chicago. It is the story of Marshall High School girls basketball coach Dorothy Gaters and her players during the 1997-98 season. Gaters is the winningest coach in Illinois history. She turns inner city girls that many others would write off into champions both on and off the basketball court.
The final story here is a follow up report on one of the players, Cappie Pondexter, 10 years later.
