“Acauã - The right to live”, is a fictional movie, however based on real facts. Infanticide still happens today to indigenous children among the Brazilian tribes. They are buried alive, suffocated with leaves, poisened or abandoned in the jungle to die. Infanticide is still committed because of lack of information, education and healthcare, and is tolerated by the authorities because of their 'non-interference policy' regarding indigenous customs.

Acauã, is one more tool to raise awareness about the reality of life among indigenous peoples and hopes to promote a discussion about possible changes to protect the lives of these helpless children.
