Our show this week focused on two grassroots groups of people who build community. The first half-hour shared time with two guests who work with Houston Institute for Culture. Guiding spirit Mark Lacy puts a lot of energy into many of the programs (houstonculture.org ). Marie Elena Cortes has allied herself and her efforts (kidswritetoknow.com ) with the Institute.

This show concluded with another half hour giving time to people in the local Food Not Bombs group who break bread with homeless folks several time every week here in Houston; look up the video.
