At night they will think they have seen the sun,
When they see the pig half-man:
Noise, screams, battles seen fought in the skies,
The brute beasts will be heard to speak.
-Michel de Nostredame (Nostradamus)

Nostrativity is a live performance installation by Julieann O’Malley exploring the future of the human race.

This installation, based on a Nostradamus prophecy that one day we will have a race of pig men, poses many questions about the future of human kind, and the choices, which are to come.

In July 2008 a licence was granted by the fertility watchdog to create human-pig embryos to study heart disease, marking the go ahead for the third animal-human hybrid embryo.

In the light of Nostradamus’ prophecy and our ‘advances’; technologically and biologically I ask,

“Will the human race one day become so dysfunctional and selfish that children will be born via pigs?”
