Louisville's Ryan Soeder pours during the final round at Coffee Fest in March of 2010. He would end up taking third overall behind Jeremy Sterner of Peregrine Espresso and Masahiro Onishi of Pot Luck. Masahiro was the last competitor to pour, and there was a nice little bit of added tension there at the end when, after inputting Masahiro's score, it was announced that there was a tie for second place, thus necessitating a pour-off between Masahiro and Ryan. Not! The scores had been put in incorrectly, and it turns out Masahiro snagged second place in front of Ryan by just a hair. Still, third place for one of Louisville's finest was nothing to sneeze at, especially considering it was his first ever competition, other than local throwdowns. Congratulations, Ryan!
