Canon EF Lenses Sampler Test Using HV20 + Letus Mini 35mm Adapter
2 years ago
Sampling the Canon EF lenses in my bag to use with my camcorder, the Canon HV20 attached to a Letus Mini 35mm adapter.
In this video, I used the following lenses and I labeled them:
Canon EF 24 1.4
Canon EF 16-35 2.8 Mark II
Canon EF 50 1.2
Canon EF 85 1.2
Canon EF 135 2.0
Canon EF 200 1.8
If anything, this video kinda gives us some idea on the impact of different choice focal length on the same scene.

Some of the shots looked soft, though. Do you find it hard to get sharp focus with that 2.7 inch screen?
How did you set your lense to f16???
Did you use your dslr and then put your lense on you Letus?
What I meant was the focal length was set to 16 since it was a 16-35 lens. But to answer how to set the aperture on an EF lens, yes, you do that by attaching to the slr, set it for Av prioprity, set the aperture you want, hit the preview button, then while holding it, detach the lens and it will retain the aperture setting.

For this test, I did not use any post. It was shot using 24p and used finalcut/compressor to do the 3/2 pulldown. Feel free to ask any more questions.

you mention EF lenses that won't focus without power, but i assume that refers only to MM lenses and not lenses with USM or Full-Time-Manual focus. There aren't many in the lineup(the 50mm 1.8 being a plentiful exception).
is it also safe to assume you are using your lenses wide open? You mentioned that stopping down allows for some margin of error in focus, but usually, you just "set it and forget it," right?
is there any problem i should know using this kind of lens?
s it possible to have the full range of zoom and wide from the lens by using 35mm adapter?
I have mostly seen video with music added in post, is the Letus noisy at all. I believe some of the other brands have pretty bad audio being picked up by the camera.
I plan to handhold it with a mike in the shoe.
At least for now.
I saw another video here (maybe it was a TwoNeil adapter) that had pretty loud humming.
