Can i ask how long you spent in realflow doing this? as ive attempted the same thing but couldn't wait for the render time. i bet this took ages to render out right?
  • Richard De Souza plus 1 year ago
It didn't take that long it certainly wasn't fast though, most of the solutions ran overnight. I split it up into multiple solutions each 3 letters is separate. I used the kill particle bounding boxes for any escape particles. You just have to watch your scene, particle, face count, tolerances etc. A bit of house cleaning goes a long way.

the simulation is good, but what makes this remarkable is the lighting and compositing. great stuff! fantastic attention to detail to get all those subtle camera artifacts.

not to be too critical because the real flow typography is great, BUT it seems there is a disservice to the original typography, the work itself, if it has to be supported at the end by a legible title...perhaps the ending legible credit title is so large it starts to become the final act and seems more like legibility suipport (in case you couldn't read it folks, this is what it said, kind of thing) and less about neutral information.
  • Richard De Souza plus 1 year ago
True I agree, but in reality the project was just a small technical test, it wasn't storyboarded or test rendered. Had it of been I would of done many things differently. Legibility is an issue especially at less than HD res. Plus I wanted to give very clear credit to Robert Henke's contribution, he was nice enough to lend his music to the work, I felt the credit should be prominent. I think the music makes it, otherwise it's merely an "animated logo"
