Scottish ms. Balcarres (17th century), p. 19: "Belle hereuse, with the 9th lowed halfe a note, mr. Beck's way". Actually this is an arrangement of a song by Lully: "Sommes nous pas trop heureux" (Ballet de l'Impatience, 1661). You can find the original Lully piece in my theorbo page cs.helsinki.fi/u/wikla/mus/Tiorba/deVisee/ . I have played also a theorbo version by de Visee of this piece, see vimeo.com/3547208 . The instrument here is 11-course baroque lute made by Lars Jönsson in 1993. Arto Wikla 13.4.2010.
