Rapture takes its departure point from images of the Abu Ghraib prison scandal, the ultimate Freudian slip of American society, and through metaphor extends to the long history of sadistic impulsion of capitalistic/consumer culture. Different characters are transformed into ghosts and haunt collective society. They are the embodiment of denial, compliance, and victimization. The ghosts are both the executioners and the sufferers of incessant and blinding post 9-11 propaganda. It is the contested and congested ground within our conscience that spawns this story. This is a story that is as thin as the voiceless echo of the image, it is the image, it is only the image. It is you and it is me and our reflections in each other. It is a relationship between us.
