    Thanks Gavin.
Not a lot f planning but quite a lot of hanging around. I only spent half to one hour on each shot. I know some people spend many hours just to get one shot but I simply don't have that much patience.

hey man brilliant piece!!. A couple of questions for you.

I am assuming this was recorded with a video camera right?. I am asking since you say Stills so I get confused with that. My last one, how did you do to record from the front of the train? Thanks so much! Congratulations!

Very nicely done, it really is interesting to see Tokyo in that perspective.
The train sequence was by far my favorite, the fact that it's accelerated really adds to the piece, and the quality of all the footage is outstanding!

  • hi 1 year ago
    Awesome!

I love this, I think its apropriate to say, piece of wonderful art!

I'm wondering, how did you manage to get the train shots? Did you just stepped to the driver, and asked "Hey can I hop in and take some pics?" or did you mount it on the front or something? Also, how did you manage them to be so crisp, there's no sign of wobbling.
I mean, it's all perfectly without movement, how did you manage that on a moving object?

    Cheers!

    Beautiful!

How did you do panning? Is it all post production, or did you actually move the camera?

Edit: Especially the scene at 1:15, I'm unable to convince myself whether it's camera movement or software panning.

Really, really, really FANTASTIC! I loved the Yurikamome sequence. I used to commute on that train every single day for work, so it really brought back memories! And excellent work with the music and editing to go along with it. I've never heard Broadcast 2000 before, but you made me want to find more of their stuff. LOVE THIS VIDEO!!!

  •
  • Pingvinfilm 1 year ago
Hey there! I think the timelapse was great but not without its flaws! It starts out great but later on I think you could have straighten out a few shots. To let the horizon be a line straight across the screen. Also the quality wasnt great.

But well done! :) I sure miss Tokyo. Especially at night.
  • jayson carpenter 1 year ago

I am a douche bag for telling him he did a good job and pointing out a few things that I thought could have been better? I thought that was the general idea with Vimeo.
  • Stefan Werc plus 11 months ago
All comments much appreciated. I agree about the quality. I wish it could be better but the original file was well over 10gb and as I'm not a plus member I had to compress it a lot. Some of the shots were shot with a fish eye lens so getting the horizon straight would be a bit difficult.
