Think about the fear of mice and you'll see a picture of a mouse running at high speed.

Fears become mental constructions, visualized memories in our minds. They belong to a stored past or to the vision of a near future. According to choreographer Raul Saldarriaga these mental images are similar to the visual vocabulary of comic strips, like cartoon panels.
