Amazing stuff, Grant! I'm so impressed. How did you get permission to shoot in that plant? I liked the boatlapse at the end too!

Thanks all. It was shot as part of a huge corporate video for agricultural giants AGCO, and produced by a very nice bunch of guys I sometimes work for in the UK called FullRange Media fullrange.co.uk - I basically had the run of the place, which is Europe's largest tractor manufacturing plant. Single camera shoot over two days in late 2006, 3 camera shoot over two days in mid 2007. The boat ride in Paris is a direct steal / homage to Ron Fricke, who made this shot his own in the landmark 1985 IMAX film CHRONOS.

I was wondering where I had seen that shot before!

There is a nice 1080p Bluray/HD-DVD copy of Chronos out now, if anyone has not seen it.

I agree, but any video on the internet that reminds you of koyaanisqatsi has to be pretty amazing. i dont think this particular video needs a message, it's just very good photography :)

  • I love the ultra-wide angle work, especially the dolly shots. I've seen dolly time lapses in BBC's Planet Earth, but I figured that they just had access to super high-end robotic track systems. Did you just use a pan/tilt system?
