In 2008 Optimus presented its new logo and image in what was probably the largest rebranding done in Portugal. The guerrilla campaign was developed to activate the brand in Portugal. During 2 days the main cities in the country became orange. This campaign was divided into 7 different stunts:
More than 25 thousand balloons were placed in major cities.
25 giant orange balls were displayed over the rivers Tagus in Lisbon, and Douro in Oporto.
120 promoters with suits "magma Optimus" distributed more than 100 thousand bottles of soap balls.
Balconies: to create some atmosphere for the other stunts, numerous balconies of Portugal had bubble machines installed on them.
5. Promoters were doing/making huge bubbles in the streets and in the crucial points of the cities.
3m tall plasticine sculptures were exposed in the main commercial centers of the cities, where children and adults were able to interact with the colors of the brand.
Beamvertising: diferents images of the new brand were projected through the streets of Lisbon and Oporto in order to enhance the other actions of rebranding.
