videojournalismworkshops.com, WASHINGTON, DC, 16 February 2013 -- This promo for my Video Journalism Workshops is taken largely from a piece I did for NOW on PBS in 2008 about the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit in Afghanistan's Helmand River Valley. Called, "Afghanistan: The Forgotten War," the piece was a finalist for a National Emmy Award and wast voted one of the top three most popular stories on NOW during that year.
Perhaps more importantly, the success of this story is a measure of how effective the methodology that we refer to as "backpack video journalism" can be. With only what I carried in my backpack, I shot, produced, wrote, narrated and helped edit a 23-minute story that competed with the largest, richest and most powerful media outlets on the planet.
You, too, can do this. Come to my workshops to learn how: videojournalismworkshops.com
