I really liked this. I assume you shot it on the 5D Mk ii, which lenses did you use? Any insight on what you did in post would be much appreciated.
  • ofa pro 1 year ago
i shot it with the letus mini and the canon HF11...nikon lenses...Can't remmeber exactly wich one but mostelikely a 85mm 35mm and 50mm
  • This looks like HD-SLR video. You did a great job shooting this with the Letus adapter. Sound design is superior. Very nice work.

That was an amazing portrait of a city, it has really inspired me..I love the way you captured details in this piece and made what is probably a quite hectic urban space seem slow and relaxing...great stuff!

I just signed in with the only purpose of congratulating you guys on such an outstandingly inspirational and artisticaly driven film. As much as I love photography, the artistic capabilities of video and the emotions it can evoque on people are some of the things I love most about it as a medium. Long had I hoped to stumble upon a video which depicted the elements and way of seeing which I myself would love to someday be able to depict on a creation of mine. Your film has really inspired me to keep believing on it as a possible artistic language and way of seeing for me.
Thanks, congratulations and keep up such personal and poetic filming language!!!

I just started to really search vimeo to check out the scene - I must say that stumbling upon your work has been inspiring and encouraging. Very Very nice. If I keep coming across artist like you and find a way to hook this up to my TV I may cancel cable vision.

Keep it up. You are the first add to my best of vimeo album. Actually after checking out your art I started it. Cool

Ah! I thought it was about the real Breukelen in the Netherlands, but it turned out to be the town in the former colonies :-)
  • ofa pro 1 year ago
i named it like that so people could know a little bit of history i discovered myself trying to find what was the relationship i had with Brooklyn..and history was the only place to start with...where that name came from...happen to discover it with a Dutch friend of mine

I wish i had your talent with words...i find myself short coming to find the right one to express the gratitude and the joy and the strength it gives me to do more and hope better...ahahah what a pressure...but truly if i am repeating myself i apologies...thank you very much is very simple but truest to what i feel about the time any of you spent watching commenting...and if i was able to make anyone of you feel or even ask questions...that's all i can wish for...
    thanxxx again for sharing

I wouldn't classify documentary as a rating, but I like how it makes people think they're about to watch an advertisement and end up watching entire 8 minutes. Cheers.
  • ofa pro 1 year ago
i agree was just making a little fun about this all rating system..i grew up in Gabon(central africa), and honestly watching movies on TV....no more cinema..ahahha isn't the 1st thing and honestly no rating at all...so i don't know was just a personal little smerk...

    Thanxx for posting and watching....ahaha

    cheers

    beautiful. a visual love story.

I live in BK and could identify all of the spots but where is that Memorial with the statues in the beginning?
  • ofa pro 1 year ago
if you take the 25 or 26 to go to the peer down in Dumbo from Fort Green you will see on your left people running in a park and playing soccer also on synthetic grass the statues are right at the end of one side of the playground....

thanxxx for posting and taking the time to watch

    cheers

Love the visuals on this one. Really appreciated your play on details.

I wish i had taken the time to film my part of Brooklyn. Fascinating Borough, completely different from one block to another.

Hope to meet you before you leave.
