The Italian Sound Orchestra takes us on a nostalgic journey through the most famous hits of the “Canzone Italiana”, originally but effectively combining pop-rock melodies and lyrical music. A hymn to our musical tradition, it is presented by a 13-member orchestra and led by three voices. Each song has been masterfully re-arranged to obtain a scratchy lyrical-rock sound, generating a strong emotional impact. The repertory ranges from classic soundtracks, which crucially contributed to the success of such films as Nuovo Cinema Paradiso and The Godfather, to classic Sanremo hits such as Nel Blu dipinto di Blu and Un’avventura.
A large part of the show will be dedicated to some of the greatest songwriters and interpreters of Italian music, such as De André, Mina, De Gregori, Battisti and Bocelli, who have contributed songs such as O’ Sole mio, Un amore così grande, Voglio vivere così and Tu che m’hai preso il Cuor. The event will also pay a special tribute to cities at the heart of the Italian musical tradition, such as Naples with its lively atmosphere and songs like Malafemmina, Caruso, Napule è, etc., and the romantic charm of Florence with Firenze Sogna.
The Italian Sound Orchestra sets out to paint a picture of Italy, emerging from both its past and present musical traditions, so take a musical journey through the Bella Italia of yesterday and today. Enjoy music and images, lyrical music and pop blend in an exciting show, full of nostalgia.
