This broke my heart. So well done. It becomes a bit more obvious every day that the wrong animals are being kept in cages while the ones doing the most harm roam free.
  • Damion Jackson 1 year ago
    agree with you
  • Tess 1 year ago
That was my reaction too. Heartbreaking.
  • Oscar Vicuna 1 year ago
I think all of you arent getting the point. Theyre not exemplifying animal captivity...theyre trying to bring to light humanity's disruption of our planet's climate state. If we do nothing to help our home, no one else will.
  • Oscar Vicuna 1 year ago
unless you're referring to humans as the animals "doing the most harm", then i agree with you as well.
  • BlancheNoE plus 1 year ago
,..looks like you agree with me, Oscar ( wistful sideways smiley here ).
  • Ani Monse 1 year ago
I felt the same... heartbroken... its too well done!... I agree with you, wild animals in cages, beast without sense of responsability dressing fancy clothes are free...
  • CrewLove 1 year ago
i have to agree with oscar. I think the video is about the earth and it's climate state.
  • BlancheNoE plus 1 year ago
I too agree with Oscar that the video is about caring about the state of our home. Being that *we* are, in my opinion, affecting it in a negative way, we need to care a whole lot more and a whole lot faster. We are currently the only species capable of "steering" our own effect.

  • Matthew Manall 1 year ago
I like the message, but how does a chimp survive 65 years in a space capsule with no food or enough life support?
  • Scooter Hamilton 1 year ago
That's not the point. The message is about how much the world has changed in the past 65 years. The chimp who has been away in space is just a device to illustrate this.

honestly close to tears. that was a very depressing but insightful look at how we treat the animals. i felt so sad for the monkey who was by himself in space for 67 years. fuck humans.
  • Diogo Girondi 1 year ago
Just at how we treat animals or at how we treat everything? :)
  • Nathan Pierce 1 year ago
Fuck the mindset that does this to the planet and everything we share it with....

Keep a positive mindset and live for compassion.

    For me and considering it was a serious endeavor it failed on a number of levels;
-Too long, mind numbing song choice
-The space chimps are well known to have all died
-Life expectancy of chimp = 50 years
-Spaceship not big enough to store the required food and oxygen for that long
-Surprised look on his face when he sees Earth; he would have seen it all day everyday for 65 years
-No one walks after a long space trip, bone and muscle loss ensure that
-Blatantly stolen from the Planet Of The Apes-albeit the premise is turned around and the humans are dead-it appears. A tired and worn out SCi-Fi storyline.

However I did like the calmness of it but wondered if that was because nothing really happened. If you'd have shown me this 30 years ago I would have been on the floor with wet pants.

I did like the lighting though.

    don't be so wimp )
  • Hey Kenny Evans, even though your observations are true, if you had to check if all the films we watch followed realistic and historical standards then most of them would "fail"...
  • Nathan Pierce 1 year ago
Dude your really looking into this too much....

They got their point across pretty obviously. The lac of realistic values your trying to point out are beside the point of the film.
  • Luke Pygman 1 year ago
    Kenny -
Those who can -- do. Those who can't -- criticize. You're looking at this from the completely wrong perspective. It's not about scientific accuracy, it's simply a fictional account used to evoke an emotional response. That's what storytelling is all about. I thought it was beautiful.

the first picture when the chimp lands on earth is from Pripyat, right? the ferris wheel and the destruction looks exactly like the one in Pripyat.

(it's interesting b/c today is 24 years after the Chernobyl disaster)

    I love this video!

Yes, and in the others emblem of Soviet Union, but i think with mate-painting, buildings seems to be too high
