Thanks for this one regardless, I'm sure it'll give some insight.

It isn't an advanced Letus course. It is more for people who don't have a clue what it is, how it works or why I wear Mr. Men T-shirts in all my videos.
Best thing about it is I have shot the same scene simultaneously with two ex1s. One with an extreme and one without and split screened the results to show you the difference.
That would kina sorta rule.
Very informative. Thanks!
cool to see it, its what I want so now I will have to save up innit
You can only overcrank to 60fps with the ex1. All the stuff in the video is overcrank, not done in post
Just to make sure I understood correctly: You ment that I shouldn't open my camerea wider than 5.6, right?
No, its the lens cannot be stopped down past f5.6
the camera you can do what you want!
how much all cost to you.
> thats what i tried to say =)
Of course the depth of field gets deeper, but are there any other effects? (Besides the fact that you lose a LOT of light)
thank you
Cool bro. Chur.

As a great admirer of your work, you did already convince me before his promo. Just saving up some money for now.
Just a question, is the setup for a Z1 difficult. I heared it's quite critical. Will it achieve the expected results?
Thank you for sharing your experience.
I wanted to take an ordinary background that looks quite messy and distracting in the original and make it look attractive.
You have blasphemed. You are going to hell.
I'm currently only editing, but in two weeks I'm taking up a new position that will allow my to edit AND shoot. I think you've single-handedly converted me from going with the hdx 200 to the ex1/ex3 instead. I hope Sony gives you a kickback!
Although i couldnt stop laughing when you said "shooting with and without a letus". I though you said lettuce :D
I just returned from HD Expo in Chicago, met a DP from the show 60 minutes with Dan Rather at the Sony panel and he said he just used the Letus Ultimate in the Galapagos Islands and had consulted with you. You are the man Philip!
I am using a £4000 camera and a £600 adaptor with cheap lenses.
It's a great little tool and I agree with you that it has really helped alot low-budget films to achieve a nice, stylized look.
im looking into "maybe" getting a Letus for my HV20. Do you recommend this option being I want 2 do my own short films, commercials, etc. or opt for a better cam. I currently have a DIY 35MM adapter which I do like but with the above is a total difference. It is costly but seems to be worth it especially if the work results in what is intended. Im in the US and this lens is actually more than my cam, but that would make the cam seem like it was a more expensive piece of gear. Please reply with your thoughts. Im kinda new and I use FCP and Im more wanting to become an editor.
thnks n advance.
Looks great with a Letus!
You could get a Xh-A1 for 3.219 USD now adays. Probably even more cheaper on eBay.
85mm f1.4 Zeiss. Sorry didn't reply to your last email. Really tight spaces get something like an 18mm sigma f2
If you look closely at the shots, the middle part of the screen is the brightest. From there, there is a slow gradation to a darker shade towards the edges.
It's especially visible in the shots of the sky and clouds.
And looking closely you'll see it present in every shot.
Doesn't this bother anyone else? It's like a mild case of tunnel vision.
I do use this effect (which I add in post) every now and then when I want that 'vignette' effect to pull the viewer's focus to the center of the frame.
Although I would not like to be stuck with this all the time. And as to what I'm seeing so far with most of the Letus assisted shots - it is what you'll be stuck with.
My theory is it has to do with the projection of the lens onto the GG, and the light not falling evenly across the frame, with the center of the GG collecting most of the light - much like a magnifying glass under the sun.
Isn't it possible to get the light/exposure levels constant across the whole frame with the letus?
It isn't so noticeable - but it's there.
Or maybe I'm just seeing things.
Oh btw, this is not to take anything away from Philip or his imager which is beautiful.
Philip is indeed a great asset to our community. Keep up the fantastic work mate.
Thank for comments though!
Phil
1 question...what will happen if u shoot, and the motor inside the adapter doesnt work\isnt turned on?
what will u see then? :\
hehe, my profile pic is very old! like 4 years old, when i used a Sony F828!, anyway a lot of photographers have that same kind of self portrait, hehe.
amazing philp
all the best
jesus
i have a couple of questions for you.
1. can you attach hasselblad lenses? (i found a site that sells a hasselblad to PL mount converter) would that work?
2. how much light loss is there, really? if you're used to shooting interiors at 2.8, what would you have to light to with the ultimate (4, 5.6???)?
thanks. i love your videos by the way, they're very helpful. i had actually seen your diving video on the letus website, didn't realize it was yours. beautiful stuff.
can the letus extreme use canon lens ?
ex. 50mm f.1,8
