Hello, can the ORACLE Controller run both the slider and the head at the same time? For timelapse situations where you need to pan and tilt while dollying on the slider. Can one ORACLE do it all at the same time?
  • Kessler Crane pro 1 year ago
no, you would need two ORACLE controllers for that.

i see. or i can get an ORACLE and the elektraDrive basic controller both to do that? thanks!

The basic controller does not allow for timelapse, it is manual control.

Understood. Thanks! One last question, how well does this work with the Kessler cranes? Works well with the 18ft cranes too? Any videos or pictures of the Revolution mounted on the cranes?

I have the Cineslider and love it. Can the time-lapse duration of the whole 31" run be shortened to less than the minimum 1.1 hours by using a different motor or some other means?
  • Kessler Crane pro 1 year ago
yes but you will have to go into advance mode. there you will see the step is set to .05 and the period is set to .300. these are small set of time so to speed the unit up change the step (motor on time) to .10 so now when it does run it will run for 2x as long thus cutting the over all time/distance in half when sent to .05 Remember to always keep the motor speed to 50 or less. When the motor speed is less than 50 it is slow enough that if the unit is moving while your shutter is open you will get ghosting or blurring. The only time you may want to increase the motor speed faster than 50 is if you have the slider set up vertical or at steep incline and you need to compensate for weight lift. So now due to a heavy weight lift you may need to set motor power/speed to 100 for it to move at the same speed of 50 when flat. You will need to experiment to find what settings will work with your camera set up as they are all different.

Oracle v2.0 or higer will allow you to do an Time lapse as quick as 31 inces over 26 mins in simple mode. Also we have made the motor on time limitless so you could sent one cycle for 15min and a motor power of 30 and just let it run continuous.

    Hello!
What type of electric motor do you use? Is it with feedback? Maybe I could attach a motor from my local supplier to ORACLE Controller, so it would be a better option for me.
    Thanks.
    Paul.

What's the best way that you've found to route by the cables for the head's control/power and also a monitor cable?

I currently own the Philip Bloom pocket dolly and was wondering if there was any way to incorporate the revolutionary head with it.... If not, is there any other way to get 3 axis time lapse with the PB pocket dolly?
