Before Every After Thought is, at its technique, a visual interpretation of a Ghazal, a poetic form consisting of rhyming couplets and a refrain, with each line sharing the same meter. It is also a story of a person, with multiple qualities and definitions of the word “beat” which are represented and expressed uniquely within each short vignette.
