"The seasons should not be like this..."

After two months of huge floods and landslides, around 500 women held an environmental rally around the hill station of Kotagiri in The Nilgiri Hills, Tamil Nadu, India.

The women came from local villages, self-help groups and community organisations, brought together by a charity called The Island Trust.

The aim of the rally was to demand the attention of local and national government in the ongoing fight to protect this unique and beautiful area of India, which had seen some dramatic, and sometimes tragic, results of climate change because of unpredictable weather and extreme rainfall during November 2009.
