Lisa Morton has been writing horror fiction for over 3 decades. With the publication of her first novel, The Castle of Los Angeles, I got the chance to help her make this short film. It consists of several short conversations about her life and work. Lisa also acknowledges those people who have helped her and influenced her writing.

Lisa recently won the Bram Stoker award for her novella "Lucid Dreaming". You can find out more about her and her writings at: Lisamorton.com

This film was shot at Valhalla Cemetery, the Iliad Bookshop and the I5 Freeway near the Brewery in downtown Los Angeles.

Shot on a Canon HV20 using Premiere Pro CS4 and Adobe Audition 3.0.

It has been an honor for me to have known Lisa from the very beginning of her career. Her imagination never ceases to amaze me. I like this video because it's kind nostalgic for me to see her yet reminds me of her depth of observations about "the small stuff" that goes bump-in-the-night.
