30-year old American-Muslim Fahad Hashmi was arrested in 2006 on charges of providing material support to Al Qaeda. Hashmi has been held in solitary confinement for the past 3 years without a trial because he hosted a college acquaintance for 2 weeks in his London flat. Hashmi wasn't aware that the friend who stayed for two weeks brought with him bags full of raincoats, ponchos and socks that he later delivered to an Al Qaeda member, Abdul Hari Al-Iraqi, in Pakistan.
